W vid!
Thanks dude!! I appreciate you.
@1:50 is called the Guyver Kick. Taken from the movie Guyver.
Love it! Thanks for the info!!!
None of this will help you in a real fight. The teacher’s body doesn’t reflect actual combat training. Use your money and go to a real martial arts school.
Thank you for the engagement and feedback. I know it can be difficult to judge a different martial art from such a short clip, particularly when it’s an introduction to a beginner drill for 11 year olds. I am beginning to teach adult classes as well, and if you are curious and find yourself in Houston, I’d be happy to let you jump in a class for free. Stay blessed.
Ms. Homles sorrry for not coming in summer karate Although I help with my mom and dad in a job and do earn money 😃 The student who wrote this - Rosa B.
Now I’m getting a debit card 😅
Never back down never what???
This is my tribe
❤
❤❤❤❤ hiii Mrs Holmes see u tomorrow's 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Scott adkins starts with judo then taekwondo and kickboxing but he didn't have his black belt in taekwondo and when he got into the stunts and movie industry he had some training in bjj, muay thai, ninjitsu and trainned on some of wushu acrobatics and weapons with some floor gymnastics and parkour and that's all what he said by himself
He good. That's all
LOL @ chick with man hands embellishments. Acts all like she was brought up 'in da hood', when she's a straight up middle class white girl. Faced no hardship or challenges in her entire life yet she wants to give out that impression. Pathetic and embarrassing actually.
That was actually a pretty bad and inconsistent list. I wouldn't even put any of Jackie's American movies on the list. Here's my list for Jackie's best fights: Wheels on Meals - Jackie vs Benny Drunken Master 2 - Jackie vs Ken Lo Young Master - Jackie vs Hwang In-shik Police Story - Jackie vs various goons in the mall New Police Story - Jackie vs Andy On Dragon Lord - Jackie vs Hwang In-shik Who Am I - rooftop fight with the two goons Armor of God - Jackie vs the priests and the Amazon women Dragons Forever - Jackie vs Benny (again) Gorgeous - Jackie vs Brad Allan Honorable mentions: Miracles - Jackie vs Billy Chow and his goons Twin Dragons - car factory fight Rob-B- Hood - Jackie vs two tough goons in the finale. Heart of Dragon - Jackie vs Dick Wei Police Story 2 - Jackie vs Benny Lai(mute criminal) Project A Part 2 - fight at the inn vs gang leaders Snake in the Eagle's Shadow - Jackie vs Hwang Jang-lee Rumble in the Bronx - Jackie vs gangsters at their hideout (Rumble is a Hong Kong movie)
Love this! Thank you for giving me even more to watch!! 😊
a belt keeps your trousers up , if you can fight you can fight ,including within the martial arts, a black belt is just a colour
I agree, to a large extent. A person should be able to show their skill level on that mat. Belt or no belt. That’s one of the reasons in my school, one of our core values is humility. I don’t care about the fancy embroidery on your belt, and the dozen patches on your uniform. Do you know the techniques? Can you perform the skills? That’s what is important! But part of that is knowing the history and philosophy…
Boyka! Enough said. That is all.
Scott Adkins knows 11 martial arts: judo, taekwondo, kickboxing, wushu, krav maga, Jeet Kune Do, MMA (Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling) ninjutsu, and capoeira. He has a black belt in taekwondo.
Thanks for the info!! I’m definitely VERY impressed with Mr. Adkins! Such a talent!
my favorite action star with bruce lee.
He’s held a black belt in Taekwondo since he was 19. If you watch Michael Jai White, final fight scene of Blood and Bone is all you need to see
Nah, was not him, you probably mean a boyko movie
Nope he’s not a black belt he quit before he got his black belt he said so himself in his podcast but he is a black belt in kick-boxing
Do Michael Jai White 🔥👌🏾
Nice! Great idea, I just might!
that kick he does several times with the fake out and snap kick is called "The Guyver Kick" because it was first seen in the 90's movie Guyver: The Dark Hero.
Awesome!! Thanks!
Love it!
Thanks!!
He's stated VanDamme was a big inspiration for him and he hopes to inspire others like him
Going to say that the amount of agility he displayed in John Wick 4 was amazing, especially with all the stuff he had to wear for filming!
One of the All-Time Greatest Movie Fight Scenes was between Jackie and Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, One of The GOATs of Kickboxing.
You forgot to include The Legend, The GOAT of Martial Arts…Bruce Lee. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 Also, if not all, but the majority of Hong Kong Action Stars did their own stunts. Jackie was never alone in that department. What made Jackie special from all the other Hong Kong Action Stars was that he was the first person who made his stunts into more of a “Parkour” type of style. The other part that also made him special from the others was that the stunts that he did were FAR MORE INSANE and DANGEROUS than other people's stunts that they did.
Scott Adkins is insanely talented. I’ve always considered him the modern version of the warrior-scholar. As far as I know, he has reached master status in taekwondo and kickboxing, but also studies Judo, Karate, Ninjitsu, Capoeira, Krav Maga, Wushu, Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Acrobatic Gymnastics. He speaks three languages (English, German, and French). I’ve also heard he holds two graduate degrees, but so far have yet to come across anything which confirms that. I first noticed him as a background stunt performer years ago, but it was his role as Boyka that really got him noticed. I wouldn’t consider him an incredible actor, except as Boyka, but I also think that’s because he’s never really been given much to work with. Either way, you have to be impressed at his abilities and physique, especially considering he’s almost 50 at this point,
Wow! Thanks for the info. Yes I am very impressed with Scott Adkins… and the more I learn the more impressed I am!
You should check out his role in the movie Avengment (2019) where he played Cain Burgess there you will see his acting capabilities not only his martial arts. Also that movie is more grounded because he and bad guys take a lot of hits even too many instead of classical untouchable protagonist. Also in John Wick 4 he was amazing playing German dude he nailed the accent but yes his role as Boyka make him really Undisputed.
Very agile. Not everybody can do what he does
Some of the scenes are CGI!
Yeah I noticed too! Maybe he did mo-cap for video games? 🤷🏼♀️
Has some Great movies. I would finish the Boyka films. Then Accident man- 2 films. Avengment Debt Collector-2 films. Ninja-2 films No Surrender He's in John Wick 4 in a fat suit. Yeah, he is amazing.
Thanks!! I will look them up!
Reminds me of of how I got hurt today 2:01
Oooh…ouch!!
Jackie Chan perants and sisters lived in Australia
Hi ms Holmes it’s Preston
Legendary Jackie
That thing was all fucked up😂😂😂😂
Hey Ms Holmes
My dad watch Jackie Chan when he was a kid and funny thing is people call him "Jackie"
Before pat Johnson died he was a 10thh degree black belt in tang soo do and trained everyone in the original karate kid
While I've never competed in karate tournaments i know not to light bricks on fire in order to break them easier cuz it would get me disqualified which is what should've happened to barry and I know it wouldn't fly in actual tournaments
The lady who plays mrs chan was also in the 1994 movie double dragon
I have severe asthma and copd and I found your comment about asthma a little offensive maybe you can elaborate on it
Firstly, it is never my intention to be hurtful or offensive. We all have our challenges and I respect that. I’m not sure what part of the video you are referring to, however if it is in the gym when Barry is sitting out… I work in public school. I was referring to sitting out of class indefinitely as “wouldn’t fly”. In public schools, we have many MANY students with all kinds of challenges. That does not give them license to not participate. Instead teachers must provide accommodations and modifications for the student. Not just “don’t participate”. Years ago I had a student who couldn’t walk without a walker. So I created accommodations where she could either balance on her walker OR perform from a chair. But she didn’t get to sit out and do nothing.
@@JuliannaHolmes it was the gym scene and my post was taken outta context and I'm glad your students partake even with their disabilities
This is a complete knockoff of the original karate kid this movie even stole the fist from the karate kid
I appreciate the feedback, and as I said in a previous comment, karate kid is actually an objectively better movie. But I don’t think that makes Sidekicks a rip off. It stands on its own.
I'm sorry to disappoint you but the original karate kid is far superior to this movie and even earned pat morita an Oscar which he didn't win for but should have. i know this movie tried to be like the original karate kid but failed miserably and should never be compared
I agree with you that karate kid is a superior FILM. My main thesis in the video is two things… A: sidekicks is its own movie and isn’t simply a karate kid knock off. The elements of fantasy and Chuck Norris making parodies of his own brand make it a unique movie. B: the martial arts skill performed in Sidekicks is the part of the film that is “better”. But hey, karate kid is one of my all time favorite movies, and I feel like there is room for both!!
Anyways its me ur student ga___iel
I bet u did
U used capcut
Breese wasn't evil in this movie he just wanted Danny boy out of commission
Even while I had the general picture outlined in my head, the way you pointed out some of the connections, especially with the Korean part, was interesting and educational. Good job👊
